What a week this has been. Frankly I’m pretty exhausted. Beginning last Shabbos with the security incident, my week has been filled by coordinating with the Cherry Hill Police (CHPD) and sending out informational notices to many local synagogues and Jewish organizations. We are also trying to organize a communication tree for all of the synagogues, Jewish schools and organizations in Cherry Hill and the surrounding communities. Any one willing to help please contact me. Many thanks to the all of the individuals who were involved last Shabbos. Without their keen awareness the man taking pictures of our campus could have easily been missed. This incident on our campus strongly demonstrates the need for everyone to be a part of community and shul security. Whether you participate as a security greeter or come to daven, it is each person’s responsibility to be aware of their surroundings. If something doesn’t look right, report the situation to any of the security greeters or our armed guard. If it’s in the community, call the police and let them investigate. It is much better to be safe than sorry. A big thank you to those individuals who have already contacted me to volunteer for security. Your help in maintaining the safety of everyone is gratefully appreciated. Volunteers are asked to commit to a 30-minute time slot on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Ultimately, as our volunteer ranks grow, I hope to schedule each person every 4 or 5 weeks. Contact me at drsamod@gmail.com to volunteer.
Have a good and safe Shabbos. Sam Tilonsky Security Chair
Kiddush Updates Sisterhood has been proud to support outdoor kiddushes for the shul since May 1st. We have received a lot of positive feedback about the impact of these beautiful kiddushes on the spirits of many of our congregants. Until now, Kiddush sponsorships have been limited to our basic kiddush option. We are now proud to announce that Tiered Kiddush Sponsorships are BACK! If you would like to sponsor kiddush, please contact Karen Cohen (karen.e.cohen@gmail.com) to reserve your date and discuss your tier. Tiers include: $180 Standard Kiddush There's nothing "standard" about this kiddush! Assorted pastries, vegetable platters, hummus or other dip, and snacks with an abundance of cold water bottles for these hot afternoons. Any alterations or special orders may incur an additional fee. $360 Intermediate Kiddush A step up from our Basic Kiddush, this kiddush includes all of the elements of a Standard Kiddush plus your choice of either Potato Kugel or Cholent, both served in individual portion sizes, along with your choice of Salad. $540 Enhanced Kiddush Perfect for any simcha or celebration - or even "just because" - this sponsorship level includes all of the elements of a Standard Kiddush plus Potato Kugel and Cholent and choice of 2 salads.
